On our 2009 honeymoon trip to Tanzania and Zanzibar, we found the most exquisite, handcrafted bar of natural soap.  Although we already lived a natural lifestyle and had given up on commercial, store-bought soap ages ago, we never really considered that the natural soap we were using could be crafted, by hand, by regular people…just like us.  

This was a most intriguing and illuminating concept, which set us on a journey to educate ourselves on the chemistry, techniques and overall benefits of natural, small-batch, handmade soap and body care.

In an attempt to create a balanced, eco-luxe, and environmentally friendly line of artisanal products, Ma’athematics Natural Body Care was born.
